  • Emily Compton is a resident artist at Vatican Studios, located in Lake Forest, California.

    The following booking information applies to booking at this location. Please specify booking location in email for correct pricing.

    Emily divides the body into sections we call panels, and works on a single panel at a time. (An example of size would be front or back of forearm, inner bicep, single pectoral, etc.)

    Emily offers a full day booking option valued at $1200. This breaks down to a $200 booking deposit and then $1000 in cash the day of. A full panel typically requires a minimum of one full day session, depending on factors like size and level of detail.

    For smaller pieces, a half day booking option is available, valued at $600. This breaks down to a $200 booking deposit and then $400 in cash the day of. (For tiny, simple tattoos, a quote will be given accordingly.)

    We’ll arrange a consultation, and Emily will create the foundation of the design prior to your session.

    -Full name

    -Brief description of desired tattoo

    -Location and approximate size of desired tattoo

    -Desired booking location and if you’ll be traveling to us

    -Your availability and desired booking window

    -Phone number

    -Please attach any reference photos you may have

    Payment can be sent through Zelle or CashApp.

  • -Once your deposit has been received, we will set up either an in person or phone consultation, in which you and Emily will discuss the details of your desired piece.

    -Emily typically approaches the design process a few days prior to your session in order to keep the energy of your piece as fresh as possible.

    -Emily will create a loose, foundational template from which she will adapt to the skin, often adding freehanded elements to best fit your canvas.

  • -Deposits are non refundable and are required to secure ANY session date.

    -A 48 hour notice is required to roll forward your deposit if you need to reschedule.

    -If running late, we allow a 30 minute grace period without prior notice before your session and deposit are forfeited.

    -Upon a second rescheduling of a single session, a new deposit is required.

  • Night before:

    -Do not drink alcohol.

    -Get a good night of sleep.

    Day of:

    -Make sure to eat a full breakfast (this is very important!) to prevent low blood sugar which can cause poor pain management and sometimes fainting.

    -Bring any snacks, drinks, or items of comfort.

    -Please consider tattoo placement while getting dressed.

    -Absolutely no drugs or alcohol.

    -No entourage, although you may bring one friend upon request.

“If you’re considering Emily, you need not look any further. She is a true artist, talented and dedicated to her craft. When I first contacted Emily, I had a rough idea for the tattoo’s visual effect and several paragraphs of writing explaining the meaning behind it. She took these pieces of information, hand-crafted designs for a shoulder piece far more beautiful than what my awful artistic mind contemplated, and incorporated all of the meaning into her sketches. When it came time to get inked, she was just as excited as I was to start. My tattoo is now 90% finished, and it has turned out wonderfully.
